The first-cycle programme in Biotechnology at Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce is an interdisciplinary course designed to provide students with solid foundations in the natural sciences and practical skills in modern experimental biology, bioprocess engineering, and advanced microbiology and biochemistry. Graduates are prepared to work in research, analytical, diagnostic, and quality control laboratories, as well as in biotechnology, chemical, food, pharmaceutical, and environmental industries. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on training in state-of-the-art laboratory techniques and data analysis, including bioinformatics. Interdisciplinary education and a B2-level language proficiency enable graduates to cooperate efficiently with specialists from various fields and to develop their careers in Poland and internationally. The obtained diploma allows further education at the second-cycle level or postgraduate programmes.

The first-cycle programme of studies in the field of Biotechnology at Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce is conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Polish Qualifications Framework. After completing three-year first-cycle programme of studies, graduates of the field of biotechnology obtain a bachelor’s degree. They have advanced knowledge in the field of mathematics, chemistry, biochemistry, physics, statistics, biophysics, plant and animal physiology, general genetics and general microbiology. The graduate’s knowledge, both theoretically and practically, is consolidated by major courses, including: environmental microbiology, molecular biology, bioprocess engineering, industrial biotechnology, or environmental engineering and technology. The first-cycle graduates in the field of biotechnology gain interdisciplinary education and the ability to combine knowledge from various disciplines. This enables them to cooperate with specialists from other fields and disciplines and to move efficiently at the interface between technology and experimental biology in biotechnology. The first-cycle programme of studies graduates are holders of a language proficiency certificate at the B2 level and are able to use a specialist language.
The first-cycle programme of studies graduates are prepared to:
- apply biotechnological methods in the industry using biotechnology and in related industries,
- take up work in analytical, control, diagnostic and research laboratories, including those performing work with the use of biological material,
- work in laboratories dealing with practical aspects of environmental protection and biotechnological processes in environmental engineering,
- operate research equipment,
- independently develop their own professional skills.
The obtained professional title gives them the opportunity to apply for admission to the second-cycle programme of studies in the field of Biotechnology or related fields, and to improve qualifications at postgraduate programmes of studies.

The second-cycle Biotechnology programme at Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce offers advanced training in genetic engineering, molecular biology, and the design and optimisation of biotechnological processes. Graduates are equipped to independently plan and conduct research and development projects in red (medical) and white (industrial) biotechnology, as well as to work in research, industrial, and diagnostic laboratories. The programme develops critical thinking, teamwork, and communication skills (at B2+ level), preparing graduates for employment in interdisciplinary teams both in Poland and internationally, and for further academic development at doctoral or postgraduate levels.

The second-cycle programme of studies in the field of Biotechnology at Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce is conducted in accordance with the requirements of the Polish Qualifications Framework. After completing two-year second-cycle programme of studies, graduates of the field of biotechnology obtain a master’s degree. They have extensive knowledge in the field of genetic engineering, including the selection and modification of microorganisms and cells of animal and plant organisms. They have the ability to gather and critically evaluate information in the field of biotechnology, as well as planning and implementing biotechnological processes in the food industry, environmental protection, and medical diagnostics. They also have extensive ability to use modern methods in the field of genetic engineering, medical diagnostics, and instrumental analysis. They can create genetically modified organisms and analyse the natural environment, food products, and medical products. They have the abilities related to the control of analytical process, including quality assurance and quality control in a biotechnology laboratory. They acquire the mathematical and computer skills needed to analyse large data sets. Graduates of the second-cycle programme of studies in the field of biotechnology are prepared to implement red (medical) and white (industrial technology) biotechnology projects. Graduates are also prepared to continue their studies at doctoral schools and do doctoral theses in the field of biotechnology and biological and chemical sciences. They are predisposed to undertake skills improvement courses and postgraduate programmes of studies.
Graduates of the second-cycle programme of studies are prepared to:
- design and conduct processes to obtain products with desired characteristics,
- use the acquired knowledge and skills in the development and optimisation of biotechnological processes,
- design and conduct experiments and research work in the field of biotechnology,
- find employment in laboratories and industries using biotechnology.

The Institute of Physics offers education in the field of Data engineering. The main goal of this study is education of specialist having necessary basic knowledge as well as practical skills and experience in data collection, exploration, analysis and interpretation, using modern IT tools. This study has interdisciplinary character with respect of applications and it is based on fundamentals of mathematics, physics, statistics and computer science. Educating an alumnus possessing: knowledge and abilities in data engineering, based on newest technologies and software tools; ability of a practical use of basic software platforms and computer codes devoted to data analysis, deep learning, artificial intelligence; ability of basic programming in Python and the use of basic libraries of dedicated software; knowledge in the general problematics of the studied fields.

The graduates of Data Engineering will possess:
- knowledge and abilities in data engineering, based on newest technologies and software tools,
- ability of a practical use of basic software platforms and computer codes devoted to data analysis, deep learning, artificial intelligence,
- ability of basic programming in Python and the use of basic libraries of dedicated software,
- knowledge in the general problematic of the studied fields,
- ability of practical applications of the acquired knowledge and skills in professional career,
- ability of solving professional problems, ability of team work,
- ability of using the professional literature and computer data bases,
- knowledge of English at B2 level, acquaintance with the special vocabulary in data engineering.
Data engineering graduates will have opportunities to find employment in institutions and companies specializing in data acquisition and processing or data protection (such as statistics/ accounting offices, various businesses, universities, research laboratories, software development companies), at positions requiring fluent practical skills in data analysis.
The received degree entitles to apply for admission to second-degree studies in the given or related field of science and any higher-education institution, as well as to enlist into postgraduate courses. The basic offer for continuation at UJK for Data Engineering graduates are the second-degree studies in mathematics (Data Analysis) and physics (Medical Physics, Nanotechnologies).
